Hello! I’m Aimee and I recently relocated from Petone to Naenae Library and you’ll find me either there, or rushing around after my two young children. I especially love thrilling mystery novels and television series, and non-fiction books that reflect and inform me as a mother and a woman. However, life would be dull without a little variety - so I sprinkle plenty of science fiction, contemporary fiction, comedy, romance, cookbooks and teen fiction throughout my reading repertoire as well.

I read widely, and will pick up anything that has an interesting cover and blurb, although I lean toward Science Fiction/Fantasy, LGBTQ, historical and graphic novels, with a dash of Young Adult and Non-Fiction.

I’m a Jane Austen, Barbara Pym and Agatha Christie fan, preferring a historical setting to my fiction (this can be as recent as the 60s or 70s) over contemporary. Other fiction I enjoy can include new releases, modern classics, and crime (mainly Scandinavian or UK). When reading non-fiction, I particularly like history and social history and whatever takes my interest at the time.

I am Susan you can find me around the War Memorial Library and occasionally out at the branches.Psychological thrillers are my preferred reading, the more gruesome the better, you can’t beat a great Scandi thriller. When I am not scaring myself with gruesome murders I also enjoy contemporary fiction, prize winning novels, children and teens books and a smattering of non-fiction. Recently I discovered that not all Science Fiction is strange.
